Qatar University

منذ تأسيسها في عام ١٩٧٣، وجامعة قطر، وهي الجامعة الوطنية الأولى في دولة قطر، تطمح إلى أن تصبح نموذجاً للجامعة الوطنية في المنطقة، تتميز بنوعية التعليم والأبحاث وريادة التنمية الاقتصادية والاجتماعية. خرّجت الجامعة على مر السنوات مايزيد عن ٣٥٠٠٠ خريجاً، والذين كان من بينهم العديد من القادة في المجتمع المحلي، في القطاعين العام والخاص.

بدأت جامعة قطر بكلية واحدة، وهي كلية التربية، واستمرت بالتوسع إلى أن أصبح اليوم حرم الجامعة يضم ثماني كليات، تقدم ٧٣ برنامجاً أكاديمياً، منها ٣١ برنامجاً في الدراسات العليا. ترتبط تلك البرامج ارتباطاً وثيقاً باحتياجات المجتمع وسوق العمل، كما توازي الأهداف والقيم في رؤية قطر الوطنية ٢٠٣٠، واستراتيجياتها التنموية. اليوم، جامعة قطر تُعد أسرع جامعات المنطقة العربية نمواً في مجال البحث العلمي، حيث تحتضن ١٤ مركزاً بحثياً، وتسري حسب خطة طموحة تحاكي أولويات دولة قطر.

Established in 1973, Qatar University (QU), the State of Qatar’s first higher education institution, seeks to become a model national university in the Middle East region, recognized for high quality education and research, and for being a leader of economic and social development. The organization has produced over 35,000 graduates, among which are many leading figures in government and the public and private sector.

From its beginnings as one college – the College of Education -- QU now has eight colleges offering over 73 academic programs, of which 31 are postgraduate. These programs are aligned with societal and labor market needs and are in line with the goals and values expressed in Qatar National Vision 2030 and the national development strategies. Today, QU is the fastest growing university in research in the Arab region, with a dedicated Research Complex, 14 research centers of excellence, and an ambitious 5-year roadmap fielding critical national priority issues.
