National Bank of Oman the first local bank was founded in 1973 and is today one of the largest banks in Oman with a paid up capital of RO (Omani Rials) 110.8 million (US$ 288 million) and a regulatory capital of RO 345.3 million (US$ 897 million), as at 31st December, 2012.
