Barbacoa

Located in Masdar City, Barbacoa is a family owned restaurant that introduces Abu Dhabi to authentic home cooked Mexican dishes. Specializing in the traditional method of slow cooking, barbacoa, this new food concept will also feature daily homemade tortillas, salsas and guacamole.

Executive Chef and General Manager, Jesus Benavides was born and raised in Tamaulipas, Mexico. Mr. Benavides, designed a menu inspired by Northern Mexican flavors he grew up with and reflecting his personal philosophy for food with integrity. “Good food is nutritious and made fresh. Nowadays, people consume too much processed food with artificial flavors that lack in nutritional value. My commitment to Barbacoa is to create a fresh product with an authentic Mexican flavor. Everything is made daily, from scratch, in front of our customers so that they may see for themselves how the food takes shape. I believe Abu Dhabi deserves an authentic Mexican restaurant where people can enjoy the freshness and authenticity of our culture.”
